In 2009, Olympian Jarrod Shoemaker and Race Director Bill Burnett, teamed up to stage the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge in central Florida. Today, the Clermont event is the ONLY 2-day all draft legal event in the United States. Our vision is to provide more draft legal racing opportunities!
The Cohasset Triathlon, now in it’s 13th year, is the one of the largest age group races in the region with an expected turnout of 1,300 athletes. Based 20 miles south of Boston, Cohasset offers an ocean swim, 14 mile bike and a 3.2 mile run
The draft legal EDR wave will go off first on Sunday morning. The course features a one loop bike course and a run with a couple small hills - all of which make a beautiful and challenging course.
The minimum age requirement is 16 years of age and a maximum age of 25 years of age (age on 12/31/19). We will grant special entry to athletes older than 25 years of age on a case by case basis. Please contact Bill at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to race draft legal but are older than 25 years of age.
The top finishers will become eligible for a USAT Elite Triathlete License (pro card) based on the number of total participants in the EDR wave.
This race follows all ITU competition and equipment rules.
SPECIAL NOTE: there is a MANDATORY pre-race meeting at Sandy Beach (345 Atlantic Avenue, Cohasset, MA) at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 22nd. NO EXCEPTIONS! During this meeting Jarrod Shoemaker will review the race plan, rules, and more.
