The Purpose:
The Cohasset Triathlon, in conjunction with Team Psycho is excited to announce the formation of a special new Junior Elite Category in the 2012 Cohasset Triathlon.One of the goals of the Team Psycho Elite Development Program is to identify and support upcoming talent at the junior level (age 22 and under). For over 10 years, the EDP has offered support to potential Olympians from the Greater Boston/New England area. This race is one way the EDP hopes to find athletes with ITU racing aspirations that have the passion and desire to potentially become the next generation of future Olympians.
The Rules:
- Participants in this category must be age 22 and under.
- Participants must be from or living either part or full time in the Greater Boston/New England area.
- Participants in this category will start in the first wave of the race along with the elite athletes.
- Winners of the category will receive a combination of swag, mentorship from current EDP athletes, and prize money. Because athletes are eligible for this separate and special prize offering, they will not be eligible for age group awards.
- It goes without saying that participants in this wave should be interested in the pursuit of excellence in the sport of triathlon.
The Process:
Athletes seeking entry for this special wave must fill out the following information. Applications will be reviewed and athletes will be informed via email when they are approved to race in this category. Once approved, athletes will need to register for the Cohasset Triathlon. Instruction for entry will be provided at that time.
